LEAD Education Forest School utilises outdoor learning to promote self-esteem, resilience, confidence and social skills.

It raises natural world and environmental awareness, offers relaxation and develops self-worth. The ethos is to allow the learner to thrive and learn outdoors, away from the traditional classroom environment.

We are a team of highly skilled professionals in our respective fields including education, behaviour management, mental health and outdoor leadership training.

By consulting with clients before our Forest School begins, we ensure all our learners succeed, achieve and enjoy the learning journey with us. From bush craft and our hunter-gatherer pre-history ancestors to the Romans or Vikings, our Forest School leaders will ‘tailor make’ the learning experience for you. We will achieve this either on-site as part of our Living History day or off-site in one of our beautiful woodland locations.

LEAD Education Forest School works in partnership with the Lumley Estate and Wynyard Hall. These beautiful venues offer seclusion, tranquillity and peaceful surroundings in which our learners will enjoy nature as well as offering a safe and secure learning environment.

Activities can include:

• Bushcraft
• Fire lighting
• Shelter Building
• Forest Art
• Wildlife Identification

• Camp Fire Cooking
• Modern/Historical Tool Use
• Craft Techniques
• Animal Tracking
• Living History

Learners can also expect to achieve the John Muir Award, work towards the Wild Passport qualification and we also run recognised qualifications in Bushcraft.

Further outcomes may be in the form of improved mental health, tackling complex needs and dealing with challenging behaviour.
